Casino Coordinator needed

We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to serve as a Casino Coordinator Volunteer for our organization. The Casino Coordinator will play a crucial role in organizing and managing our participation in casino fundraising events in Alberta. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our organization’s fundraising efforts while gaining valuable experience in event coordination and volunteer management.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all aspects of our organization’s participation in casino fundraising events, in compliance with Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC) regulations.
  • Liaise with the AGLC and casino venue staff to ensure all necessary permits, licenses, and documentation are in place for each event.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with various roles during casino events, including cashiering, chip runners, and general support.
  • Develop and maintain a master schedule of volunteer shifts and responsibilities for each casino event.
  • Communicate effectively with volunteers to provide clear instructions, answer questions, and address any concerns or issues.
  • Oversee the setup and teardown of our organization’s designated casino area, ensuring it complies with AGLC regulations and casino venue requirements.
  • Monitor casino activities to ensure compliance with AGLC regulations and organizational policies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for casino venue staff and AGLC representatives during events, addressing any inquiries or issues as they arise.
  • Collect and reconcile funds raised during casino events, following established procedures for handling cash and reporting revenue.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation and financial reports to the AGLC and our organization’s leadership team following each casino event.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with volunteers, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Previous experience in event coordination, volunteer management, or casino operations is an asset but not required.
  • Familiarity with Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis regulations pertaining to casino events is preferred but not required.
  • Must be available to volunteer during scheduled casino events, which may include evenings and weekends.
