COMMUNITY GARDEN

garden2

The inaugural Planting Palooza was held Mother’s Day weekend 2019, with a team of community volunteers coming out to plant two freshly rototilled garden plots with vegetables and herbs on behalf of the Glendale community. Raspberry bushes, fruit trees, shrubs and flowers tailored the garden. We even have a pumpkin patch!

GGMCA past president Paul McCormick and his crew laid the perfect foundation for this wonderful project, sculpting dozens of huge rocks into a two-tiered, turtle shaped garden with a dozen planting plots available for community members to rent.

A welcoming place has been created for our community, young and old, where we can come together, support each other’s efforts, learn a thing or two while we’re at it, and, of course, receive the benefits of garden therapy.

Sign up for your family’s own organic garden plot or get a group of neighbours together and put your street name on a plot.
